What is rhynoplasty ?

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to reshape or resize the nose. It can be performed for:
  • Aesthetic reasons: To make the nose more harmonious with the face (e.g., removing a hump, narrowing the tip, straightening the bridge, etc.).
  • Medical reasons: For instance, if there are breathing difficulties due to a deviated septum (in this case, it is called septoplasty).
After rhinoplasty, the nose typically becomes more refined, symmetrical, and fits the face more naturally.

Methods: Open (incision on the columella, for complex cases) and Closed (all incisions are internal, no visible scars).
Anesthesia: Almost always general anesthesia. The surgery lasts 1–3 hours.
Recovery: A splint (cast) is worn for 7–10 days. Major bruising usually subsides within 2 weeks.
Results: Initial results are visible after a month; final results appear only after 6–12 months, once internal swelling has fully resolved.
Complexity: This is the most unpredictable plastic surgery, as tissues can scar differently for each individual.
  • Important: The priority is not just an "aesthetic nose," but ensuring that breathing remains clear and healthy.
